My name is Phil, and I am a journeyman. I've been a psychology major, a barista, a corporate paper-pusher, a camp counselor, a youth minister, and currently, a doctoral candidate in sociology and a teacher. I love to write about a lot of things, sometime frequently and sometimes not so frequently.
I like good music, and my wife tells me I am really snobbish about it. She might be right. I also like cooking for myself and others, especially the part where you get to eat. I enjoy being around people more often than not. I love reading, especially about big ideas, and most recently have been enjoying Pierre Bourdieu, Erving Goffman, Pitirim Sorokin, and a bunch of other dead guys most people have never heard of.
I may say things you do not agree with, and I will not insist that you do. You may call me a hypocrite, and you will be right. We are all practitioners of life and have a lot to learn.
My writings are a conversation. I hope you will participate in that conversation.
